What caused you to get into pet sitting/dog walking?
My love for animals is what inspired me to leave the corporate world behind in 2019. While I was trying to decide “what next”, I spent hours upon hours at the animal shelter. So, I decided to follow my heart and turn my love for animals into a full-time career. That passion for pet happiness and safety is truly the heart of what makes the See Jane Walk experience different.
What is the most fulfilling part of owning a pet sitting/dog walking business?
See Jane Walk primarily serves Downtown Austin, an urban area with high walkability. There's nothing better than running into a client—both human and pup—and seeing the dog light up with joy at the sight of me or one of my team members.
What is the most challenging?
Growing Pains! One of the hardest things about running a dog walking business, especially a growing one, is balancing high-quality service with operational demands. People don’t realize all the goes into the business - staffing, safety, client expectations and logistics.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
Looking ahead, we simply want to keep doing what we do best, growing at a pace that feels right while maintaining our focus on quality and connection. With a strong foundation in place, we've implemented systems to keep things running seamlessly. The goal has always been to give our pups (and their people) the care, attention, and reliability they deserve—and that remains at the heart of everything we do.
What has Time To Pet changed the most about how you run your business?
I cannot imagine how people ran dog walking/sitting businesses without software. When I was starting out, everyone I knew in the business recommended Time To Pet. So, it was a no-brainer. Luckily, I never had to run my business without Time To Pet. It is the best in class in the industry.
